Announcements and Music Selection for June 2nd
It was a great ½ band concert at Beacon Heights this week! I heard some really positive comments and feedback from the residents that I spoke to. It only took a quick look up from our music while we were playing to see the impact our music was having on those in our audience.
Your band Executive held their final meeting this week. It was a marathon 2 hour meeting that combined reviewing our Spring Concert results, feedback from our Stop, Start Continue survey as well as planning for our upcoming AGM. I would like to thank Anna and her family for hosting our meeting and treating us to some quality beverages and munchies! The draft minutes have been produced and forwarded to the Executive for their feedback. Once reviewed they should be posted on our website early next week.
Please note that our Music Library Database has been posted to our band website. We will be offering you an opportunity to influence our music selection for upcoming performances next year. If you find a piece in our dbase or have one you think would suit our band composition and talent please email it to me with the title, arranger and a link to where the piece can be purchased and sampled. Ultimately it will be at the discretion of our two conductors as to which pieces we practice and perform.
Executive Rotation. Executive positions are for a two year term. Every year, half of our four band executive positions rotate. This year Kristen, our Treasurer and I as President are both due to rotate; previous president was only able to serve 1 of a 2 year term. As I have only served in this position for one year, I am willing to continue for another two years so that our 2 position rotation is reestablished. That said, as the President and Treasurer positions are due for rotation this year, may I please ask anyone who is interested in what either of these positions involves or who would like to volunteer to feel free to put their name forward. I will ask for volunteers during our AGM.
