Announcements and Music for Nov 3rd
Starting next week and until the return of warmer weather, we will be closing the outside door to our band room at 7 pm. Anyone arriving after then please use the front entrance to the school.
Our Christmas Concert will be held Tues Dec 1st at Beatrice Desloges Catholic High School. Our concert will start at 7:30 and finish at 9:00. Tickets will be $5. Advertising flyers are almost ready to go to print and will be distributed shortly. We are looking for volunteers to help man the door, collecting food for the Food Band, selling tickets and handing out programs the night of the concert. We are looking for help designing both the program and the tickets for the concert. We are again encouraging those who would like to help advertise for the concert by playing in small groups in the community using our GCCB Music Stand Banners and handing our concert flyers. Our Christmas Senior Home concerts will be held Tues Nov 24th, Dec 8th and 15th. More details will follow regarding full or half band requirement. Dress for both the Christmas Concert and senior homes will be band shirts and black pants.
As discussed this week we will be adding to the theme of our concert Musical Memories of the Season by reading short personal anecdotes during the concert and while throwback Thursday Christmas family pictures are being projected in the background. All pictures and anecdotes will remain anonymous. Please help us create this warmth and personal flavour to our concert by sharing your family pictures and anecdotes with us. You can email your anecdotes to Lisa (lisa.concessimaclean@gmail.com) and your pictures to Andrea (sloan_22@sympatico.ca).
An Executive Meeting was held this past Monday. Thank you to Anna for hosting the meeting at her house. The minutes along with a copy of the treasurer’s Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statements have been attached for your information. They will be posted in our members only section of our website shortly.
